Review and Giveaway:Zakia's Moroccan Ghassoul Clay Mask

What is Ghassoul Clay? How does it work?

A truly exquisite spa quality clay from ancient deposits unearthed from the fertile Atlas Mountains in Morocco. This mineral rich clay blends extremely well with water making its application to the face and skin a smooth and delightful experience. This clay has been used for over 1400 years as a soap, shampoo, and skin conditioner, and the finest spas across the world currently utilize it for its therapeutic benefits.
This clay is quarry mined from deep beneath the Atlas Mountains in Eastern Morocco. It is sun dried and untreated. When first mined, Rhassoul clay appears as a polished brown, soap-like clay, which is chunky in appearance and resembling rocks. After further refinement and micronization, the end product is a smooth almost silken earth.

At first when I received this clay I really had no idea what I would be able to do with it. I was fortunate enough to be sent specific instructions on how this clay could be utilized.

1. As a Facial Mask: This is how I chose to use mine and it was relatively simple: Mix one tablespoon of the clay powder with 5 tablespoons of water, mix in a bowl until you get the consistency of cookie dough, then apply using your fingers or a spatula.

2. Deep cleansing Shampoo:Mix equal parts clay powder with your favorite shampoo. Shampoo as normal and rinse.

3. Hair Mask: Mix ingredients as in the facial mask, rub gently into scalp and hair and leave in for 5-10 minutes. Shampoo with your favorite shampoo and rinse.

4. Full Body: Approximately 3/4 of the jar.

This clay has absolutely no odor and I absolutely loved the texture and how it felt on my skin. ( you only need a very thin layer) It is also economical as the above recipe will get you a lot of product to use time and time again. I even added some Tea Tree Oil to help with acne.
You also do not need to leave this type of mask on till it hardens as it becomes harder to remove. Also be warned that skin may occasionally will be reddish for 15-30 minutes after use, but this is due to the Ghassoul having thoroughly detoxifying your skin.

Upon using this mask I have found my skin to become clear and feel pampered like I had been to a spa.

Basically this is a Spa treatment at home and a very enjoyable one.
